Milestone inspections (SB-4D)

Florida's statewide milestone inspection program requires qualifying multi-story buildings to be inspected by a licensed engineer on a defined schedule. Airavata performs the structural milestone inspection and prepares the sealed report.

A milestone inspection is separate from county recertification, and a building may owe both. We confirm whether your building qualifies and what phase applies before starting.

Common questions

Milestone inspections (SB-4D), FAQ

What buildings need a milestone inspection in Florida?

The statewide program applies to qualifying multi-story buildings on a defined schedule set by statute and local enforcement. Whether your building qualifies depends on its height, age, and location; we confirm before starting.

What is the difference between Phase 1 and Phase 2?

Phase 1 is a visual structural inspection. If it identifies substantial structural deterioration, a Phase 2 inspection follows to evaluate it further. Most buildings needing only Phase 1 receive a sealed report at that stage.
